Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visits flood-hit areas of Punjab

WEBDESK: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, visited flood-affected areas of Punjab. He went to Sialkot Sector, Shakargarh, Narowal and Kartarpur.

The visit was aimed at reviewing the flood situation and rescue operations. He was given a briefing on the current conditions and preparations for the next spell of rain.

The Army Chief praised troops and the civil administration for their joint efforts. He said their hard work saved lives and provided relief to people in need.

Field Marshal Asim Munir assures Sikh community of restoring Kartarpur, other flood-hit sites

Field Marshal also met members of the Sikh community in the area. He assured them that all damaged religious sites, including the Durbar Sahib Kartarpur, would be restored quickly. He said it is the duty of the state and its institutions to protect minorities and their places of worship.

The Sikh community welcomed the Army Chief warmly. They thanked the Army and civil authorities for helping during the floods. General Munir also carried out an aerial visit of the Durbar Sahib Kartarpur.

While speaking to local officials, the Army Chief praised their timely response. He noted that their actions reduced the loss of life and property.

During his interaction with soldiers, he appreciated their high morale and commitment. He said their work for the people in difficult circumstances was commendable.

On his arrival, General Munir was received by the Corps Commander Gujranwala.
