Pakistan weather update: hot, humid conditions to persist, partly cloudy weather, rain expected in northern regions

Web desk: Today, most plain areas of the country are expected to remain mainly hot and humid, according to the Pakistan weather update.

In some parts of northeast Punjab, Islamabad, the Pothohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, the weather is likely to turn partly cloudy with chances of rain.

Wind and thunder showers are also expected at isolated spots, according to the National Weather Forecasting Centre of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

According to the weather office, the synoptic conditions are as stated. A seasonal low lies over north Balochistan, while moist winds from the Arabian Sea are reaching the upper regions of Pakistan.

On Tuesday, similar hot and humid conditions prevailed over most plain areas.

Pakistan weather update: regional forecast

Following is todays regional weather forecast for Pakistan.

Balochistan weather

Hot and humid weather is expected across most districts. But Khuzdar, Zhob, Musakhel and nearby areas may receive rain, wind or thunderstorms in the evening or at night.

Sindh weather

The province is likely to remain hot and very humid. Coastal areas, including Karachi, may see partly cloudy skies with light rain or drizzle.

Punjab weather

Hot and humid conditions will dominate most areas. But isolated rain, wind or thundershowers are possible in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Attock and Chakwal. Additionally, in Gujrat, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad and nearby districts.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa weather

Hot and very humid weather is expected in most areas, with chances of rain, wind or thunderstorms in Swat, Dir, Chitral, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram and Mansehra. Additionally, in Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kurram, Swabi, Nowshera, Kohat and surrounding areas.

Islamabad weather

Partly cloudy and humid weather is expected, with a 45 per cent chance of rain, wind or thundershowers in the city and nearby areas.

Kashmir weather

Partly cloudy conditions with isolated rain, wind or thunderstorms are expected.

Gilgit-Baltistan weather

Partly cloudy weather with a chance of isolated rain or thunderstorms is likely.

In the past 24 hours, most areas of the country saw partly cloudy and humid conditions. Some upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan received light to moderate rain.
