Officials said several agreements and memoranda of understanding will be signed during the visit.

Officials describe the package as a milestone that will push new projects and speed up cooperation in priority sectors.

Japanese Ambassador Akamatsu Shuichi has called the visit “exceptionally important,” noting Japan’s long friendship with Pakistan.

The last prime ministerial trip took place in 2005 when Shaukat Aziz visited Tokyo.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will meet the Japanese prime minister and senior leaders to deepen cooperation across government, business, education and the public sector.

Pakistan expects fresh investment, technology partnerships and stronger export links as part of the plan.

For Islamabad, the timing is significant.

A focused economic package from Japan can support industrial upgrades, help firms integrate with supply chains and open avenues for skilled training.

It can also encourage joint ventures that bring modern manufacturing practices to local industry.

The government says the visit aims to turn goodwill into projects with clear timelines and results.

With agreements on the table, both sides will look to fast track implementation so that businesses and workers see benefits on the ground.
