A sudden rise in the heart attack cases in Pakistan has alarmed everyone in the country.
Many people in Pakistan between the ages of 30 and 50 are experiencing heart attacks.
Number of heart attack cases in Pakistan
Now, 47 per cent of heart attack cases in the country occur in individuals under the age of 50.
As per the latest report from the National Institute for Heart, irregular sleep patterns, high caffeine intake, smoking, poor physical activity and a sharp increase in stress-related disorders are major contributing factors
It is now clear that heart problems have now become common in young people, hence, precautions must be taken.
Moreover, public awareness is also a way to reverse this deadly trend.
It is pertinent to mention although it is a common attack but it can be fatal depending on your health.
Warning signs of a heart attack
- Discomfort in other areas of the upper body. Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in the:
- Arms (one or both)
- Back
- Neck
- Jaw
- Stomach
- Shortness of breath. This can happen with or without chest discomfort.
- Other signs. Other possible signs include:
- Breaking out in a cold sweat
- Nausea
- Rapid or irregular heartbeat
- Feeling unusually tired
- Feeling lightheaded
How heart attack happen?
A heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is severely reduced or blocked. The blockage is usually due to a buildup of fat, cholesterol and other substances in the heart (coronary) arteries. The fatty, cholesterol-containing deposits are called plaques. The process of plaque buildup is called atherosclerosis.
