Pakistan weather update: hot, humid conditions to persist, scattered rains in upper regions

Web desk: Hot and humid weather is expected to continue across most parts of the country today, according to the latest Pakistan weather update.

However, isolated showers with wind and thunder may occur in parts of Northeastern Punjab, the Potohar region, Islamabad, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and nearby hilly areas.

The weather pattern shows a seasonal low over north Balochistan, while moist winds from the Arabian Sea are moving towards the upper regions of the country. A new westerly wave is also affecting these areas.

Pakistan weather update: regional forecast

Balochistan

The province will see mainly hot and humid conditions.

Sindh

Hot and humid weather will dominate most parts, though coastal areas, including Karachi, may see partly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated rain.

Punjab

Most areas will remain hot and humid. In the evening or night, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Khushab, Gujrat, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, and nearby areas may receive rain with wind and thunder.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Hot and humid conditions are likely in most districts. However, Swat, Dir, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Malakand, Kohat, and nearby areas could experience isolated rain or thunderstorms.

Islamabad

Hot and humid weather will prevail in the city and its surroundings. Some places may see partly cloudy skies with chances of rain, wind, or thunder in the morning or at night. Probability: 35 per cent.

Kashmir

Cloudy skies are likely with isolated showers and thunderstorms.

Gilgit-Baltistan

Cloudy weather is expected, with the possibility of isolated rain or thunderstorms.

Over the past 24 hours, most of the country experienced hot and humid weather, though rain with wind and thunder was reported in Northeastern Punjab, the Potohar region, Islamabad, and Kashmir.
