Pakistan has won the toss and elected to field first in the second test match between Pakistan and England in Lord on Thursday.
Rain in London had threatened to delay the start of the match. However, conditions improved enough for the toss to take place.
Covers were earlier placed over the pitch and surrounding areas. Poor weather had been forecast throughout the day.
Pakistan’s team management had been considering four pacers or three fast bowlers and a spinner. The final combination was decided after assessing the pitch and weather conditions.
The opening partnership of Imam-ul-Haq and Azan Awais is expected to remain unchanged.
Captain Babar Azam’s inclusion meant either Saud Shakeel or Salman Ali Agha could make way from the playing XI.
Pakistan will look to exploit the conditions early after opting to bowl first. England, meanwhile, will aim to make the most of their first innings despite the weather threat.
