On India’s Independence Day, a Black Day is being observed today in occupied Kashmir. On the call of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, protests against Indian occupation will be held on both sides of the Line of Control and in different parts of the world.
All pro-freedom leaders and organizations have announced their support for the call to observe Black Day.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Kashmiris living around the world will hold anti-India demonstrations today to draw the world’s attention to the ongoing Indian atrocities in the occupied territory.
The occupying Indian administration has further tightened restrictions in the occupied valley, particularly in Srinagar, which has been turned into a heavily militarized zone.
Several layers of security have been deployed around Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium, while vehicles, passengers and pedestrians are being subjected to strict searches.
It is pertinent to mention that the so-called main ceremony marking India’s Independence Day will be held at Bakshi Stadium.
Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi Holds Independence Day Ceremony
A dignified Independence Day ceremony was held at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, where the national day was celebrated with traditional enthusiasm and spirit.
Pakistan’s Chargé d’Affaires, Saad Ahmad Warraich, hoisted the national flag at the Chancery’s lawn. Officers, staff members and their families attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Saad Ahmad Warraich said the creation of Pakistan was not only the fulfillment of the long-standing desire of Muslims of the subcontinent to determine their own future, but also the realization of their resolve to establish a separate homeland.
He said Pakistan firmly believes in the principles of peaceful coexistence, dialogue and diplomacy.
The Chargé d’Affaires also said that the historic agreement among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye was another important milestone toward promoting regional stability and contributing to global peace.
