Web Desk: A Karachi court has acquitted Anmol, also known as Pinky, in three drug-related cases registered between 2020 and 2022, according to court proceedings.
The cases were heard by the Additional District and Sessions Court South, where Anmol’s lawyer argued that two co-accused had already been acquitted in the cases.
The defence said co-accused Ali and Fahmida were acquitted in 2024, adding that Anmol had been implicated largely on the basis of statements made by other accused in the cases.
The lawyer argued that after the acquittal of the co-accused, there was insufficient basis to convict Anmol in the cases.
Following the hearing, the court acquitted her in three cases registered at the Guzri police station in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
The court’s decision brings an end to the proceedings against Anmol in those three cases, according to the information provided.
Separately, Garden police in Karachi arrested a woman accused of involvement in drug trafficking in May, according to the information provided.
