Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) established at the headquarters of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), where he was given a detailed briefing on preparations to deal with natural disasters and coordinated response arrangements during the ongoing monsoon season in the country.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chairman NDMA briefed Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on the operational capabilities of the National Emergencies Operation Centre, its technology-based response systems, and mechanisms for monitoring disasters. During the briefing, an overview was also presented of the monitoring system for the prevailing monsoon situation and various potential threats through “Disaster Lens 2026.”

The Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces appreciated NDMA’s efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s national capacity to respond to natural disasters. He stressed that timely preparedness, effective institutional coordination, and rapid response during disasters are essential for protecting human lives and critical infrastructure.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to cooperate with the civil administration and NDMA and, whenever required, will provide full assistance in relief, rescue, and rehabilitation operations.
