Web Desk: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar has announced the results of the 2026 annual matriculation examinations, ending weeks of anticipation for thousands of students, parents and teachers across the region.
The announcement revealed mixed outcomes, with a significant number of students successfully advancing to the next academic stage, while others were advised to improve their performance in future examinations.
According to board officials, a total of 97,950 students appeared in the annual ninth-grade examinations this year.
Of those, 57,847 students successfully qualified for promotion to the next class, reflecting a substantial number of candidates who achieved the required academic standards.
However, education experts said the results also highlight the need for continued efforts to improve teaching quality, learning environments and academic support systems in schools.
Meanwhile, 95,496 students participated in the tenth-grade annual examinations.
The board reported that 66,988 students passed their examinations, while 27,788 candidates were unable to secure the required marks and were declared unsuccessful.
Officials said students who could not achieve their desired results should not lose confidence, as future opportunities remain available through improved preparation and academic guidance.
Education specialists said examination results reflect more than individual student performance, pointing to the role of teaching standards, parental support and overall educational conditions.
They stressed the importance of adopting modern teaching methods, strengthening classroom learning and helping students manage academic pressure to achieve better outcomes.
According to experts, improving educational infrastructure and providing teachers with updated training will be essential for raising performance levels in future examinations.
Following the announcement, a large number of students accessed their results through the board’s official website and other online platforms.
Several educational institutions also organised recognition events to celebrate successful candidates and encourage other students to work harder in upcoming academic years.
The Peshawar Board congratulated successful students and expressed hope that they would continue their educational journey with dedication and commitment.
Officials also encouraged unsuccessful candidates to view setbacks as opportunities for improvement, saying consistent effort, proper planning and guidance from teachers could help them achieve better results in future attempts.
The latest matriculation results highlight both progress and challenges within the education sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
While thousands of students demonstrated academic success, officials and experts said further improvements in teaching quality, student support and educational resources remain necessary to ensure stronger outcomes in the years ahead.
