AJK Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd.) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal has announced the results of seven seats in the Muzaffarabad Division.
According to details, the Chief Election Commissioner said that voter turnout in Muzaffarabad was 54 percent. Shah Ghulam Qadir was declared successful from LA-25, Pakistan Peoples Party’s Mian Waheed from LA-26, PPP’s Sardar Mukhtar Khan from LA-29, Pakistan Muslim League-N’s Mustafa Bashir from LA-30, Raja Saqib Majeed from LA-31, Pakistan Muslim League’s Raja Farooq Haider Khan from LA-32, and Dewan Ali Khan Chughtai from LA-33.
The Chief Election Commissioner said that it cannot be said that the elected members cannot take oath. He said that if two or four seats are vacant, it cannot be said that the assembly is incomplete.
He thanked all stakeholders for their cooperation.
PML-N Secures Simple Majority to Form Government in Azad Kashmir, Says Rana Sanaullah
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s adviser Rana Sanaullah has said that transparent elections were held in Azad Kashmir and that PML-N has also secured a simple majority to form the government.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad alongside Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam, Rana Sanaullah said that PML-N had won 23 out of 45 seats and that a meeting of the parliamentary committee would be called immediately after the third phase of elections on the 10th.
He said that elections were held on 20 seats in the second phase, in which PML-N won 13 seats while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) managed to secure only three seats. PML-N also won all four seats in Muzaffarabad.
Rana Sanaullah said that PML-N won 10 out of the 12 refugee seats, while the PPP won two refugee seats.
The Prime Minister’s adviser said that the people of Kashmir had voted for Nawaz Sharif’s vision, for which they were grateful, and congratulated all the successful candidates. He said that a government based on a democratic and public mandate was going to be formed in Azad Kashmir.
