Web Desk: Higher Education Commission HEC and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) have signed a memorandum of understanding to integrate the country’s degree verification system with a new national digital workforce platform, a move aimed at improving credential verification and expanding employment opportunities for graduates.

The initiative seeks to streamline the digital authentication of academic qualifications while strengthening links between universities and the technology industry, according to an HEC statement issued on Thursday.

HEC Chairman Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar and PSEB Chief Executive Officer Faisal Jeddy attended the signing ceremony, accompanied by senior officials from both organizations.

Under the agreement, HEC’s digital degree verification system will connect with PSEB’s upcoming workforce platform, allowing employers to verify academic credentials electronically.

Authorities said the integration would improve transparency and reinforce confidence in the qualifications of students and professionals participating in Pakistan’s growing digital economy.

The collaboration will also establish Pakistan’s first national repository of verified digital talent, bringing together authenticated profiles of students and information technology professionals on a single platform.

Officials said the database would provide employers in Pakistan and overseas with access to verified candidates, making recruitment more efficient while helping connect skilled professionals with local and international job opportunities.

HEC said the partnership represents another step toward building a data-driven ecosystem that supports workforce development and aligns academic qualifications with industry requirements.

The commission added that the initiative is expected to enhance graduate employability, strengthen collaboration between academia and industry, and support Pakistan’s broader digital transformation strategy by creating a more reliable and accessible talent pool for the technology sector.
