Web Desk: Gold prices declined in Pakistan on Wednesday after a drop in international bullion markets pushed domestic rates lower, according to figures released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
Domestic gold prices fell by Rs1,000 per tola, bringing the new price to Rs426,436 per tola.
Meanwhile, the price of 10 grams of gold dropped by Rs857 to Rs365,600, reflecting the broader downward trend in the precious metals market.
The decline in Pakistan’s gold prices followed a fall in international bullion markets. The global price of gold slipped by $10 per ounce to $4,040 per ounce, reducing import-linked pricing pressure in the domestic market.
Because Pakistan’s gold prices are closely tied to international benchmarks and exchange rate movements, changes in global bullion prices typically feed into local markets.
Market experts and representatives of the jewellery trade attributed the decline to softer international gold prices amid evolving global economic conditions.
They said changes in the global economic environment and weaker international bullion prices had directly influenced domestic gold rates, resulting in lower prices for consumers and traders alike.
Although the latest decline offers some relief to buyers, analysts said future price movements will continue to depend on trends in international gold markets, global economic developments and investor sentiment.
