Senior journalist Fakhar Durrani has shared additional material on social media in connection with his report on what he claims was anti-Pakistan propaganda carried out through agents of India’s intelligence agency, RAW.
Posting on X, Durrani shared a screenshot and three videos, claiming that on July 3 he held a 36-minute conversation with a RAW agent. According to Durrani, the individual discussed the Pegasus project and his role in matters related to Pakistan.
In his post, Durrani wrote that during the conversation, the agent explained efforts to create space in Pakistan for DW, The Sun, and a French newspaper. According to Durrani, the individual said they wanted content from these media organizations to become accessible and be published or available in Pakistan.
As part of his post, Durrani also shared what he said was the call record of the 36-minute conversation with the alleged RAW agent, followed by a screenshot of the exchange on social media.
Durrani said the first video contains the RAW agent saying that DW and The Sun want to expand their influence in Pakistan and would like their content to reach audiences in the country. According to Durrani, the individual also says these organizations want to publish content of their choice but are not receiving permission from their own government.
According to Durrani, the second video features the RAW agent saying they have no enmity with anyone and only want to receive the same level of space and recognition in Pakistan as BBC Urdu. The individual also says their objective is not to organize protests but simply to ensure their content is accessible in Pakistan.
Durrani said the third video includes the RAW agent discussing the Pegasus project and claiming that individuals from three to four countries were involved in the report. According to Durrani, the individual also refers to his own alleged role in the Pegasus report.
