Lt. Gen Amir Raza to four-star General


The federal government has announced a key promotion and appointment in the Pakistan Army, promoting Lieutenant General Amir Raza to the rank of four-star general. Following his promotion, he has been appointed Commander National Strategic Command.


According to an official statement, Prime Minister approved Gen Amir Raza’s promotion to the rank of four-star general. Before his promotion, he was serving as Chief of General Staff (CGS), where he oversaw military operations, intelligence, planning, and other key military affairs.


After his promotion, Gen Amir Raza will assume command of the National Strategic Command, an institution regarded as playing a vital role in matters related to Pakistan’s strategic assets.


Prime Minister congratulated Gen Amir Raza on assuming his new responsibilities and extended his best wishes. He expressed confidence that the general’s professional competence, extensive experience, and leadership would further strengthen the country’s defence.


According to defence circles, Gen Amir Raza is a seasoned and highly professional military officer who has served in a number of key command, staff, and operational appointments throughout his career. His promotion to the rank of four-star general and appointment as Commander National Strategic Command is being viewed as a significant development in the Pakistan Army’s senior leadership.
