The Government of Balochistan has approved a 7% Ad hoc Relief Allowance for all permanent government employees in Grades 1 to 22, effective July 1, 2026.
The decision was taken to provide financial relief to government employees amid rising inflation. The Balochistan Finance Department has issued an official notification implementing the allowance from July 1, 2026.
According to the notification, the allowance will be calculated at 7% of each employee’s current basic pay, meaning the amount will vary depending on the employee’s grade and existing salary.
The Finance Department clarified that the allowance will be subject to income tax under applicable laws, and the relevant tax will be deducted at the time of salary payment.
The notification also outlines several key conditions. The Ad-hoc Relief Allowance will not be merged into the basic pay and will instead be paid separately as part of the monthly salary.
The 7% allowance will not be counted for pension, gratuity, or any other retirement benefits. Pension calculations will continue to be based on the employee’s original basic pay.
Employees on extraordinary leave will not be entitled to the allowance during their leave period. However, the allowance will be restored in accordance with the rules once they resume duty.
Following the decision, all relevant government departments and accounts officers have been instructed to implement the new orders immediately.
While preparing salaries, officials will ensure transparent payment of the allowance by taking into account each employee’s grade, running basic salary, tax deductions, and leave recordA
