Web Desk: An Islamabad police official was allegedly assaulted and coerced into recording a video after being intercepted by members of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) while returning to duty in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, according to an official police incident report.
The incident came amid heightened security concerns in the region, where authorities have intensified monitoring of activities linked to banned groups.
According to the report, Constable Ehtesham Masih, son of Ishtiaq Masih, service number 9427, was traveling from Islamabad to Rawalakot on July 14 to resume duty after a period of absence.

At around Officer Market in Goi Nala, protesters allegedly stopped the vehicle in which he was traveling. After identifying him during a search, they forced him out of the vehicle and assaulted him, the report said.
Authorities said the assailants also allegedly handed the constable Indian currency and compelled him to pose for photographs and record a video before releasing him near Bismillah Hotel in Goi Nala.
The constable later reached the Azad Pattan police post, where he reported the incident to authorities, according to the police application.
The incident was relayed to Islamabad Police’s Special Branch Control Room at about 8:30 a.m. on July 15 through an official information report.
Authorities have not yet publicly disclosed the identities of the alleged attackers or confirmed whether any arrests have been made.
