Web Desk: Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation on the N-25 highway in Balochistan, killing nine terrorists and injuring several others, the military said.
The operation was launched after authorities received information about terrorists blocking roads and collecting extortion payments from travellers and local residents in the area between Jhao Cross and Kararo.
According to a statement from government authorities, security personnel conducted the operation after receiving confirmed intelligence about the presence of terrorists linked to the group referred to by officials as Fitna al-Hindustan.
Officials said the terrorists had established roadblocks along the highway and were involved in extortion activities targeting passengers and civilians travelling through the area.
During the operation, nine terrorists were killed while several others were wounded, authorities said, adding that the action had inflicted a major blow on the group’s network.
The military said three Pakistani soldiers were martyred while taking part in the operation, while some personnel sustained injuries.
The injured soldiers were provided immediate medical treatment, according to the statement.
Authorities did not disclose further details about the identities of those killed or the exact timeline of the operation.
The latest action comes as security forces continue operations against terrorist groups in Balochistan, a province that has witnessed repeated attacks targeting security personnel, infrastructure and civilians.
Officials said the operation demonstrated the government’s commitment to protecting citizens, securing key highways and preventing terrorist groups from disrupting peace and stability in the region.
Security agencies said they would continue taking measures to safeguard communities and maintain law and order across Balochistan.
