Security briefing labels India a failed, unsustainable state

India a failed state

Security officials on July 2 delivered a detailed and thorough briefing focused entirely on India, describing it as a “failed and unsustainable state” succumbed to growing internal instability and decline.

Contrary to previous briefings, which largely took into account India’s sponsorship of terrorism and its role in creating regional instability, the current presentation focused on India’s internal political, social, economic and strategic challenges.

According to the briefing, India is rapidly descending into instability under the weight of its own internal contradictions and conflicts.

Security officials stated that India’s strategic thinking is based on coercion and pressure rather than public consent, while divisions based on religion, caste, ethnicity, language and regional identity continue to deepen instead of melting. They said the caste system still dominates birth, social status, rights and opportunities, leaving millions socially marginalized.

Security officials further mentioned Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, Manipur, Khalistan, the Seven Sisters, Nagaland and the country’s North-South divide as testimony to unresolved political disputes and separatist movements.

They raised concerns that New Delhi continues to prioritize rivalries with Pakistan rather than focusing on its domestic challenges, in an effort to divert public attention from internal miseries and conflicts.

According to the briefing, the prevailing situation endorses Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s vision and reflects the relevance of the Two-Nation Theory. Officials maintained that growing economic inequality, identity politics, religious polarization and the caste system are weaking the very existence of India.

The briefing also stated that the militarization of politics has further destabilized an already divided society, claiming that not only the armed forces but also state institutions are increasingly taking on the same ideological philosophy.

Officials argued that what India terms as “strategic autonomy” is, in reality, strategic ambiguity that overwhelmingly reflects diplomatic isolation and an unclear foreign policy direction. They further claimed that India’s confrontations with nearly all of its neighboring countries have reinforced its image as a source of sustained stress in South Asia.

The briefing asserted that India’s own policies have become the greatest threat to its national security by weakening the country from within. It further claimed that as Pakistan’s international standing continues to strengthen, it is becoming increasingly difficult for India to conceal its internal contradictions.

According to the officials, instead of contributing to South Asia’s progress, India is increasingly becoming an obstruction to regional peace, stability and economic development. They concluded that while Pakistan is emerging as a center of global focus for its key importance, India appears to be moving toward decline and internal disorder.
