Director General Immigration and Passports, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has announced that the cashless payment system has been officially activated in all passport offices across Pakistan.
In a post on social media platform X, Muhammad Ali Randhawa said this marks another important milestone in further promoting the digital system in passport offices.
He said the implementation of cashless payments will enhance transparency, efficiency and the delivery of public services, while citizens will benefit from greater convenience and faster services.
According to the DG Immigration and Passports, this initiative is a significant step towards promoting the digitalisation of government services and establishing a modern, efficient and transparent system.
Meanwhile, interior minister Mohsin Naqvi said that cashless transactions are operational at all Passport Offices across Pakistan. Applicants no longer need to stand in long queues or wait for hours to make payments.
He further stated that this important reform was initiated on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and our team has successfully delivered it. This is another step towards making public services faster, more transparent, and more convenient for our citizens.
He also praised the efforts of passport team office by saying “Many more milestones lie ahead, and, Insha’Allah, we will continue to achieve them. Well done to the entire Passport team. Keep up the excellent work”.
