Web Desk: A major controversy erupted on social media following serious allegations against the international broadcaster BBC Urdu. According to a viral post on X (formerly Twitter), the media organization withheld the salaries of its local Pakistani workforce for two consecutive months.
The user claims the broadcaster stopped payments due to “not enough negative framing of local issues” by the local team. This editorial pressure reportedly drove the recent influx of negative stories from Pakistani employees at BBC Urdu.
In the viral post, the user issued a direct appeal to local media workers. The message strongly urged Pakistani employees to protect their professional integrity, stating, “don’t sell your soul. Stand up and speak. This is your country, your motherland.” Furthermore, the post highlighted that hundreds of millions work diligently within Pakistan’s modest economy. It emphasized that these workers do not need to serve the foreign agendas of international channels.
The user openly dared the broadcaster to challenge these allegations. If BBC Urdu disputes the claims, the user promises to release supporting evidence. This evidence includes a copy of an internal email and missing bank transaction records.
The broadcasting company has not yet issued an official response regarding these explosive claims.
