Reports aired by some private media channels regarding an alleged meeting between former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and PTI leader Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif have been termed false and contrary to facts.
Some private TV channels, quoting sources, had claimed that jail authorities and PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan had been informed that Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi wished to meet Barrister Saif. The reports further stated that during a family meeting last month, Bushra Bibi had expressed a desire to meet Barrister Saif, but the meeting could not take place.
However, according to sources, there is no truth to these reports, and no meeting of any kind has been arranged between Imran Khan and Barrister Saif.
Meanwhile, jail sources said that Imran Khan recently met his wife Bushra Bibi at Adiala Jail. According to the sources, the meeting was held in the jail’s conference room and lasted for approximately 50 minutes.
During this time, lawyers and family members who had arrived to meet Imran Khan were not granted permission. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s aides Suhail Afridi, Shafi Jan, and Mian Khan Afridi remained present at the Factory Naka point, while Imran Khan’s three sisters were also there along with a large number of party workers.
A large number of supporters and family members gathered outside the jail; however, authorities did not allow anyone to meet the PTI founder, leading to a tense situation outside the prison.
In a separate development regarding Imran Khan’s eye treatment, jail sources said he was transferred late at night from Adiala Jail to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) under strict security arrangements, where specialist doctors conducted a detailed examination of his affected eye.
Following the medical examination, Imran Khan was administered the fifth dose of an intravitreal injection as part of his ongoing eye treatment. Sources said he had previously received four such injections, and the latest dose was a continuation of the treatment process.
After the treatment was completed, Imran Khan was shifted back to Adiala Jail. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan also confirmed the medical examination, saying that Imran Khan had been taken to PIMS Hospital for a scheduled check-up and treatment.
