Web Desk: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) approved the first-ever PhD Nursing program in Punjab, marking a historic shift toward advanced medical education in the province.
The Specialty Advisory Committee of the university officially approved the program curriculum during its recent session. University leadership designed the initiative to cultivate highly qualified nursing experts and address the critical shortage of advanced nursing faculty across Pakistan.
For the inaugural batch, UHS allocated 20 seats to launch the program. Prospective candidates must clear a mandatory entrance examination with a minimum score of 75 percent to qualify for admission.
UHS Vice Chancellor Professor Ahsan Waheed stated that the program aims to elevate healthcare standards by producing specialized research professionals. Following the curriculum approval, the university plans to publish the formal admission advertisement during the first week of July.
