Web Desk: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) will expand access to licensing and police services by deploying facilitation vans and its Police Station on Wheels (PS on Wheels) units at 28 locations across the federal capital throughout the week, officials said.

The mobile service initiative, running from June 15 to June 21, aims to bring essential police and traffic-related facilities closer to residents and reduce the need for citizens to visit police stations or traffic offices.

According to an ITP official, the mobile units will operate daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., offering a range of services including learner permits, driving licence renewals, duplicate licences and issuance of driving test sheets.

In addition to traffic-related facilities, the PS on Wheels units will provide several police services, including character certificates, reports for missing documents, learner permits, licence renewals and duplicate licences.

Officials said the initiative reflects ongoing efforts to improve public access to government services by positioning mobile units in residential, commercial and institutional areas across Islamabad.

Under the schedule, PS on Wheels and facilitation vans will rotate through different sectors and key locations each day.

On June 15, PS on Wheels was deployed in Tarlai Kalan, while facilitation vans were stationed at Air Headquarters in E-9, G-8 Markaz and the Traffic Office Faizabad.

On June 16, the mobile police station was scheduled to serve residents at G-10 Markaz. Meanwhile, facilitation vans were deployed at Benazir Chowk in Tarnol, the National Bank of Pakistan’s regional office in G-5 and Jinnah Complex in Chak Shahzad.

The following day, June 17, PS on Wheels will operate near Shifa Hospital in H-8. Facilitation vans will also be available at Naval Headquarters in E-8, the Foreign Office and Pothar Block in Chak Shahzad.

On June 18, the mobile police station will move to E-11 Markaz, while vans will provide services at C-Block of the Pak Secretariat, I-10 Markaz and Hamza Camp.

On June 19, PS on Wheels will return to G-10 Markaz. At the same time, facilitation vans will be stationed at G-6 Markaz, Tramri Chowk and the Adventure Inn checkpoint on Murree Road.

Services will continue on June 20 with PS on Wheels operating from I-8 Markaz. Additional vans will be available at the Zero Point checkpoint along Srinagar Highway, the Gandum Godam checkpoint on IJP Road and the Traffic Office Faizabad.

The week-long campaign will conclude on June 21, when PS on Wheels will serve citizens at the H-9 Sunday Bazaar. Facilitation vans will also be deployed at the ITP Office Rawal Town, Police Lines H-11 and Islamabad Club.

ITP officials urged residents to review the deployment schedule and visit the nearest service point for assistance.

The official said the initiative is designed to make public services more accessible, improve convenience for residents and streamline the delivery of traffic and police-related facilities across the capital.

Citizens seeking additional information can contact the Islamabad Police helpline at 1915, the official added.
