Web Desk: The grandfather of 9-year-old Australian Pakistani girl Haniya Ahmed has demanded strict action against those responsible for her death in an alleged shooting by Crime Control Department CCD personnel in Pakistan Punjab province He also called for swift justice for the family
Speaking to local media Haniya’s grandfather Mazhar Hussain Chauhan said the family suffered a grave injustice He urged authorities to hold all involved accountable under the law
“This was not merely unfair treatment it was oppression” Chauhan said “If armed robbers can be shot then authorities must also act against the person who killed my granddaughter”
He added that no law enforcement officer stands above the law He also called on authorities to conduct an impartial investigation into the incident
The family said they reached the hospital after the shooting They found Haniya covered in blood Her father Adil Ahmed and brother Afnan were receiving treatment for serious injuries
The incident took place in Chakwal where CCD personnel allegedly opened fire Haniya died in the shooting Her father and brother sustained injuries The case triggered public concern and renewed debate over police accountability and use of force
Meanwhile authorities formed a Joint Investigation Team JIT to probe the incident Investigators also added a murder charge under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code against an officer named in the case
