Web Desk: Law enforcement agencies carried out an intelligence-led operation in the Chehla area of Muzaffarabad, arresting five suspected individuals and seizing weapons, digital devices and sensitive documents, official sources said on Tuesday.
Authorities said the targeted raid was launched following confidential information about alleged suspicious activity in the area.
During the operation, officials recovered laptops, mobile phones and other communication equipment from the suspects.
Preliminary investigations into the seized devices uncovered what sources described as suspicious contacts and sensitive material. Forensic and technical analysis of the recovered data remains ongoing to determine the nature and extent of the alleged links.
Meanwhile, investigators said that during questioning, one of the detainees led authorities to a significant weapons cache.
Security personnel confiscated seven automatic firearms, several grenades and other military-grade equipment from the identified location.
In addition, officials recovered maps of sensitive installations, documents related to key sites and what they described as a suspected attack plan.
Sources said investigators are examining evidence of alleged contacts with a hostile intelligence agency as part of the inquiry.
Authorities are also exploring potential facilitators, sources of funding and the possibility of a broader network connected to the detained individuals.
Officials said timely action helped avert a potential threat to sensitive installations and public safety.
Security sources emphasized that any activity deemed harmful to state security, public order or national interests would not be tolerated.
They added that strict legal action would be taken against those found involved in activities undermining national security.
