The Leader of the Opposition in the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Shah Ghulam Qadir, has stated that the public of Azad Kashmir has rejected the protest call of the Action Committee.
He said that the “anti-peace agenda” of the Action Committee has failed and that the public has boycotted the protest call, adding that business activities across Azad Kashmir are continuing as normal.
Shah Ghulam Qadir said that elections in Azad Kashmir will be held in a peaceful and democratic manner. He claimed that the Action Committee has previously attempted two to three times to disturb law and order in the region.
He added that the Action Committee wants to create unrest in Azad Kashmir, but the people have rejected its protest call. According to him, citizens across the region are engaged in their daily work and markets and businesses remain open.
The opposition leader further said that the role of the police in maintaining law and order is commendable. He praised the police for ensuring peace against disruptive elements.
He said that all political parties are currently busy preparing for elections and that the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir’s stance on peace and stability is widely supported. He added that elections in Azad Kashmir will be conducted in a peaceful and democratic manner.
