Web Desk: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has moved to contain widening internal differences within its Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter by establishing a six-member coordination committee tasked with strengthening communication among party leaders, lawmakers and the provincial government.
The development comes amid reports of escalating disagreements within the party’s provincial ranks, prompting the leadership to take steps aimed at improving cohesion and decision-making.
According to an official notification issued by the party, PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar constituted the committee and appointed former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser as its head.
The committee also includes Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati, Provincial General Secretary Ali Asghar Khan, provincial ministers Mina Khan and Akbar Ayub Khan, as well as Peshawar Region President Atif Khan.
Under its mandate, the committee will serve as a liaison body between PTI lawmakers, the parliamentary party and the provincial administration. Party officials said the forum is intended to improve coordination and facilitate consultations on key political and administrative matters.
Moreover, the body will act as an advisory platform for Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the provincial party president and the party-aligned constitutional rights movement, commonly known as Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ayeen.
The formation of the committee signals an effort by PTI’s provincial leadership to manage internal challenges through structured dialogue and consultation. Party officials hope the forum will help resolve differences, streamline communication and strengthen organizational unity at a time when the party faces both political and governance-related pressures.
The notification formalising the committee’s establishment has been issued, and members are expected to begin consultations in the coming days.
