Pete Hegseth praises Field Marshal, Prime Minister over peace negotiations

Web Desk: U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has acknowledged and lauded the role being played by Pakistan’s leadership in efforts aimed at securing peace and dialogue between US and Iran.

Speaking about ongoing negotiation efforts, Hegseth said that the role of Pakistan’s Field Marshal and Prime Minister in peace negotiations was a remarkable and praise deserving.

“I think it’s an unexpected development, the role that the Field Marshal and the Prime Minister (of Pakistan) are playing in the peace securing talks (with Iran),” he said.

The U.S. defense chief further stated that cooperation between the two countries was boosting bilateral ties between US and Pakistan, adding, “A true friendship is developing there.”

His remarks develop at a stage when Pakistan has been actively engaged in diplomatic outreach and mediation efforts on issues between US and Iran, with Islamabad stressing the need for dialogue and peaceful solutions to regional conflict.

The views of the US official are being considered as a recognition of Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement and its efforts to contribute to regional peace and stability.

It is worth noting that PM Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir are receiving global recognition from world leaders owing to their tireless efforts for the peace of the entire region.
