Trump’s surprising claim: “I can become the Prime Minister of Israel”

Donald Trump has made a surprising claim, joking that after his presidency he could even move to Israel and run for the office of Prime Minister.

During a media briefing, Trump said that his popularity in Israel is extremely high, claiming it is around 99%. He added that he could even contest elections there for prime minister.

He remarked that perhaps after all of this, he might go to Israel and try to become its Prime Minister. He also said that he had received a poll earlier in the day showing 99% approval in Israel.

The statement comes at a time when Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had recently held an important phone call regarding rising tensions with Iran.

Trump also defended Netanyahu during the conversation, claiming that Israelis are not treating their Prime Minister appropriately.

Although various surveys suggest Trump enjoys relatively high support in Israel compared to many other countries, the claim of 99% popularity is widely seen as exaggerated and consistent with his characteristic style of rhetoric.

Decline in Trump’s popularity in US:

US President Donald Trump has seen a further decline in his public popularity, with a recent survey showing a significant drop in his approval ratings.

According to analysts, this decline appears to reflect weakening public trust in the United States and may also influence the upcoming political landscape. In particular, the war against Iran is being seen as a key factor contributing to the fall in the US president’s popularity.

A report from international media stated that according to a new public survey, 60% of Americans oppose the Iran war, compared to 55% in a previous survey.

The report further noted that 91% of Americans blame the Iran war conflict for the country’s economic downturn, while public dissatisfaction with President Trump’s handling of the economy has increased.

61% of Americans have rated President Donald Trump’s performance as unfavorable.

According to the report, a large majority of the public considers the costs of the war unnecessary and a burden on the economy.

Experts say that Trump’s second term is as chaotic and uncertain as his first. It is worth noting that President Trump took the oath of office for his second term on January 20, 2025.
