Syed Nazar Hussain Shah has formally assumed charge as the Chief Commissioner of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission.
Syed Nazar Hussain Shah today formally assumed charge of the post of Chief Commissioner of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission.
Earlier, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Information and Public Relations Department, had issued his appointment notification on May 12, 2026 under notification number SO(IPR)/17790439212248129/2026. Upon his arrival at the commission office, senior officers and staff welcomed him.
On this occasion, an introductory meeting was also held in which he met the commission’s officers and discussed the institution’s mandate, ongoing activities, and future priorities.
While speaking on this occasion, Syed Nazar Hussain Shah reiterated his commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and citizens’ right to information in the province. Emphasizing effective implementation of the Right to Information law, he said that all capabilities will be utilized to further improve the institution’s performance and the delivery of public services.
Senior officers welcomed the appointment of the new Chief Commissioner and expressed hope that his leadership and extensive administrative experience will play an important role in achieving the objectives of the commission.
The commission already needed an experienced and skilled individual and the officials of the department are optimistic that his appointment will bring reforms in the department on emergency basis.
