President approves Sitara-e-Shujaat for shaheed Liaqat’s sacrifice

President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the award of Sitara-e-Shujaat for martyred citizen Liaqat in recognition of his sacrifice while preventing a suicide terrorist attack.


On the recommendation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari approved the civil award for Liaqat Shaheed, who sacrificed his life after stopping a suicide bomber and saving many innocent lives.


President Zardari said Liaqat Shaheed prevented major loss of life by laying down his own life, adding that his courage, sense of duty, and sacrifice are a shining example for the nation.


He further stated that Liaqat Shaheed displayed unmatched bravery by standing firm in front of the suicide attacker, and the nation salutes its brave son.

“Liaqat Shaheed’s courage, sense of duty and sacrifice are a shining example for the nation,” the president said, adding that the martyr displayed unmatched bravery by standing firm in front of the suicide bomber.

According to security sources, the incident took place in the inter-provincial area between Punjab’s Jand tehsil and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Khushal Garh Bridge, where the attacker, belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij, was moving through fields


Liaqat Shaheed’s mother, son, and brother will receive the Sitara-e-Shujaat from the President this evening. The martyr’s family has been sent to Islamabad under full official protocol, while an Elite Force squad is accompanying them to ensure their security and convenience.
