Web Desk: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s younger daughter, Mah Noor, has become engaged in a private family ceremony held at the Sharif family residence in Jati Umra.
Family members and close relatives attended the event, which remained simple and limited in scale. According to media reports, the family intentionally kept the ceremony modest in line with the current economic situation and the government’s message of austerity.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif attended the gathering along with members of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s family. Captain (retd.) Safdar and other close relatives also joined the ceremony.
Reports said Mah Noor’s fiancé belongs to a well-known business family. However, the family did not release further details to maintain privacy.
During the ceremony, Nawaz Sharif reportedly offered prayers and good wishes for his granddaughter and her future husband.
The Sharif family’s private events often attract public and media attention. In previous years, the wedding celebrations of Junaid Safdar, son of Maryam Nawaz, received widespread coverage across television and social media platforms.
However, this time the family adopted a more restrained approach. Political observers linked the decision to the Punjab government’s ongoing campaign promoting austerity and reduced public spending.
Meanwhile, analysts said the simple ceremony also supports Maryam Nawaz’s broader political messaging during a period of economic pressure and inflation.
The gathering of both Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif’s families at the event also reflected continued unity within the Sharif family leadership.
