Web Desk: Authorities have closed interprovincial transport terminals at Faizabad in Islamabad for two days due to security arrangements linked to “Marka-e-Haq” events in the federal capital.

The suspension of transport operations has disrupted travel between Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and several other cities. As a result, passengers faced long delays and difficulty finding alternative transport options.

Officials halted transport operations at Faizabad terminals late Thursday night. Authorities also tightened security across Islamabad and introduced a traffic diversion plan ahead of the scheduled events.

Meanwhile, commuters traveling between Rawalpindi and Islamabad reported increasing traffic congestion and extended travel times.

Passengers at the terminals criticized the repeated closure of transport hubs without alternative arrangements.

“People continue to suffer because authorities shut down bus terminals without providing other travel facilities,” one passenger said at Faizabad.

Transporters also expressed concern over financial losses caused by the suspension of operations during the two-day closure.

Faizabad terminals have previously faced shutdowns during major political negotiations and security operations in Islamabad. However, travelers said repeated closures continue to create uncertainty for daily commuters and intercity passengers.

The latest restrictions affected routes connecting Islamabad and Rawalpindi with multiple cities across the country.

Authorities have advised commuters to follow the official traffic diversion plan and avoid unnecessary travel during the security operation period.
