The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has rejected reports of a strike, calling them mere rumours.
Vice Chairman of the All Pakistan Petrol Pump Association, Nauman Ali Butt, termed the news of a strike from May 1 to May 5 as baseless, stating that there is no truth to reports about the closure of petrol pumps.
He said that petrol pumps across the country will remain open as usual and the supply of petroleum products to the public will continue without interruption.
Nauman Ali Butt further clarified that the association has no connection with the strike-related news and that petrol pump owners do not support any such strike.
The association urged the public not to pay heed to fabricated reports circulating on social media, emphasizing that there is no shortage of petroleum products in the country.
Furthermore, authorities also warned that propagating false information about a potential strike can create unnecessary panic among citizens and reassured that authorities are monitoring the situation to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply nationwide.
It is also worth noting that unverified and fabricated reports about possible shortage caused unusual crowd at petrol pumps today, creating obstructions on roads for general public.
