Ahead of the PSL 2026 final, good news has emerged for Peshawar Zalmi as Bangladesh’s emerging fast bowler Nahid Rana has once again been allowed to participate in the tournament.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has issued a new No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Nahid Rana, permitting him to take part in the PSL final scheduled for May 3. Earlier, the board had only granted him permission until April 13, after which he was recalled due to workload management.
In a statement, the BCB said the decision was made considering the importance of participation in a major global franchise tournament final.
According to the board, after a full review by the team management and medical panel, it was confirmed that Nahid Rana’s participation would not negatively affect his fitness, workload, or national duties.
On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi thanked the BCB president for the decision, saying that Rana’s return is very important for the team, especially at a time when they are preparing for the final.
It is worth noting that Nahid Rana has delivered an outstanding performance in the PSL. He has taken 7 wickets in 4 matches for Zalmi with an average of 10.85 and an economy rate of 5.42. In a match against Karachi Kings, he took 3 wickets for just 7 runs, helping bowl the opposition out for only 87 runs.
Earlier, Zalmi fast bowler Ali Raza also took a hat-trick against Karachi Kings.
Nahid Rana was initially given six days’ rest to prepare for the Test series against Pakistan starting May 8 in Dhaka. However, the BCB has clarified that he will still be available in time for national team duties.
