Pakistan and China have signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs between institutions) during a ceremony held in Changsha, the capital of China’s Hunan province. President Asif Ali Zardari attended the event.

The agreements focus on cooperation in key sectors including desalination of seawater, agricultural technology, and the tea industry.

The first MoU was signed between the Sindh Local Government Department and the Luxian Environmental Technology Group. Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Party Secretary and Chairman You Hui signed the agreement. The cooperation will focus on improving water supply in cities through seawater desalination projects.

The second agreement was signed between the Sindh Local Government Department and Longpin High-Tech Information Company to promote cooperation in agricultural technology. It was signed by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and Chinese company Chairman Chen Zhishen.

The third MoU relates to the tea sector and was signed between Maske and FAMTI Trading Company, Hunan Tea Group, and Jialong International Technology (Henan). On the Pakistani side, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla signed the agreement, while Hunan Tea Group Party Secretary and Chairman Zhu Chongwang and Henan Jialong International Trade Technology Chairman Hao Jiaolong signed from the Chinese side.

The cooperation aims to strengthen development in the tea industry and enhance economic, trade, and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
