Iran denies reports of internal division within leadership

⏱ 1 minute read

Iran has dismissed reports of internal divisions within its leadership, while signaling that the door for negotiations remains open—provided they are based on justice, dignity, and wisdom.

Presidential office spokesperson Mehdi Tabatabaei rejected claims of differences, stating that there is strong unity within Iran’s leadership.

Without naming Donald Trump, he criticized what he called enemy propaganda, accusing opponents of spreading false narratives. He said such elements should stop spreading lies and instead end their “broken promises, coercion, and deception.”

The spokesperson emphasized that Iran is not opposed to negotiations, but made it clear that talks can only take place if they are conducted on the principles of fairness, respect, and wisdom.

He further added that Iran has consistently shown willingness to engage in dialogue, but past experiences have made it cautious about entering talks without clear guarantees and mutual trust.

The spoke person further stated that these statements reflect Iran’s attempt to maintain internal cohesion while sending a measured message to the international community that diplomacy remains an option under the right conditions.
