OIC expresses confidence in Pakistan’s future diplomatic role

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed its appreciation to Pakistan’s leadership for playing an effective role in facilitating a ceasefire.


According to sources, OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha thanked the Pakistani leadership for its key role in promoting diplomacy and achieving the ceasefire. This acknowledgment came during a meeting between the OIC Secretary General and Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Syed Fawad Sher.


During the meeting, Ambassador Fawad Sher briefed the Secretary General in detail on Pakistan’s peace and mediation efforts and informed him about the progress of ceasefire talks between Iran and the United States held in Islamabad on April 8.


The Pakistani envoy stated that the Islamabad talks marked a significant development between the two parties, highlighting the tireless efforts of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and the Field Marshal. He emphasized that Pakistan will continue to play an active role in facilitating dialogue between the concerned parties.


Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha congratulated Pakistan on successfully hosting these important negotiations and said that Pakistan’s role in addressing challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah is commendable. He also expressed full confidence in Pakistan’s ability to facilitate future negotiations, noting that as a founding member of the OIC, Pakistan holds a highly significant position.
