India: A heavy explosion at a power plant in Sakti has left at least nine people dead and fifteen others injured, according to initial reports.

According to reports the blast occurred earlier today, causing thick plumes of smoke into the sky and triggering panic in nearby areas.


Rescue teams and emergency transport vehicles reached the scene shortly after the blast. Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, while medical teams transported the injured to nearby hospitals.

Authorities report that several victims are in critical condition, raising fears that the death toll could rise.
