China has responded to the reported statement by US President Donald Trump regarding a possible blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the need for restraint and stability in the region.
A spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the talks held between the United States and Iran in Islamabad are a positive step toward improving the situation.
He expressed hope that all parties will fully comply with the ceasefire and avoid further escalation of tensions.
According to the spokesperson, China is ready to cooperate with all relevant parties to ensure energy security and supply stability.
He said that in the current situation, patience, restraint, and responsible behavior are extremely important to maintain peace in the region.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry further stated that keeping vital waterways such as the Strait of Hormuz safe, stable, and uninterrupted is in the shared interest of the international community, as it plays a crucial role in global trade and energy transportation.
Experts say China’s stance reflects efforts to reduce rising global tensions and avoid an energy crisis.
