⏱ 2 minute read

Web Desk: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed on Sunday that Pakistan will continue facilitating communication between the United States and Iran to ensure lasting regional peace.

Speaking during a press briefing in Islamabad, Dar expressed gratitude to delegations from both Washington and Tehran for traveling to Pakistan to engage in direct negotiations. He emphasized the critical importance of both nations maintaining the current ceasefire agreement, which was established following a formal request from the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The Deputy Prime Minister revealed that the negotiation process involved multiple rounds of positive and constructive dialogue. These sessions, which lasted 24 hours and concluded early Sunday morning, saw active participation from both Dar and the Field Marshal as they worked to bridge deep-seated differences between the two parties.

Furthermore, Dar praised the delegations for their commitment to the marathon sessions. He noted that the successful completion of these talks marks a significant step forward, though he urged both sides to approach future discussions with a positive mindset to secure an enduring peace for the global community.

Transitioning to Pakistan’s future role, Dar reaffirmed that the country remains dedicated to its position as a neutral mediator. He stated that Islamabad would not cease its diplomatic efforts and remains ready to provide the necessary platform for ongoing engagement.

While the specific details of the discussions remain confidential, the conclusion of these high-stakes meetings in Islamabad suggests a shift toward active de-escalation. Dar concluded the briefing by reiterating that the regional stability depends on the sustained willingness of both the United States and Iran to build upon the progress made during this weekend’s sessions.
