Web Desk: Pakistan announced on Friday it will issue visas on arrival for all foreign delegates and journalists traveling to the federal capital for the high-stakes Islamabad Dialogue 2026.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the policy change via a statement on the social media platform X. He extended a warm welcome to international participants and emphasized the government’s commitment to facilitating the diplomatic summit, which aims to address regional tensions.

To ensure seamless travel, Dar requested all international airlines to allow eligible delegates and media professionals to board flights without requiring a pre-issued visa. “Pakistan welcomes the delegates and journalists of all participating countries arriving for the Islamabad Dialogue 2026,” Dar stated.

Following this directive, immigration authorities at all major entry points will grant visas upon arrival to verified attendees. This move aims to streamline the entry process for policymakers and global media representatives as the city prepares to host critical negotiations, reportedly involving talks between the United States and Iran.

The decision comes at a time of heightened security in the capital. Local authorities have declared public holidays and implemented strict traffic diversions around the city’s Red Zone to accommodate the visiting delegations.

Furthermore, the government has established specialized facilitation desks at airports to assist arrivals. Officials noted that these measures reflect Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic role and its efforts to ensure a successful, inclusive forum for regional peace and stability.
