Pakistan Railways fares

Islamabad: After the recent increase in petroleum prices, the government has decided not to raise train fares.

According to a private TV channel , Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi stated that freight train charges will also not be increased. The government will bear an additional burden of 6 billion rupees until June 30.

Besides this, govt has announced that public transport in Islamabad will be made free for one month.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has stated that public transport in Islamabad has been made free for one month.

On the Prime Minister’s instructions, all public transport in Islamabad has been made free. He further said that the Ministry of Interior will bear the cost of 350 million rupees for providing free transport.

The govt is taking every possible measure to provide relief to the low income stratum amid global hike in petroleum products.

Petroleum minister has also assured that subsidies will be provided to goods transporters delivering food items, public transport, small farmers up to 25 acres, and motorcyclists—this is considered the best decision.

Besides, fuel prices will be reviewed weekly, and as soon as the global situation improves, reductions will be made.
