A serious cybersecurity threat has emerged for users of Apple devices after a powerful hacking tool called “Dark Sword” was leaked online, putting millions of devices at risk worldwide.

According to a report by TechCrunch, the spyware is now publicly available on the internet, significantly increasing the chances of hacking attacks. The tool was reportedly uploaded on GitHub, making it easy for anyone to download and use.

Cybersecurity researchers at iVerify warn that the spyware can steal sensitive data from infected iPhones and iPads, including contacts, messages, call logs, and even saved passwords. Alarmingly, it does not require advanced technical skills, meaning even low-level hackers can launch attacks within minutes.

Reports suggest that users running older software versions are at the highest risk, especially those using outdated updates of iOS 18. Experts from Google have also confirmed that the exploit works effectively on older systems.

Apple has acknowledged the issue and urged users to update their devices immediately. The company also recommends enabling Lockdown Mode for additional protection.

With billions of Apple devices in use globally—many still running outdated software—experts fear a surge in hacking attempts in the coming weeks.

Safety Tips:
Update your device to the latest software immediately
Avoid clicking on unknown links or websites
Do not install suspicious apps
Enable security features like Lockdown Mode

This incident highlights how ignoring software updates can leave devices highly vulnerable to cyber threats.
