Eid ul Fitr in Bajaur

Since the Eid moon was not sighted yesterday in Gulf countries, today the 30th fast has been completed, and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow, Friday, March 20.

According to an international news agency, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar have completed 30 days of Ramadan today.

Yesterday, the moon was not sighted in these countries, and official authorities had announced that Eid-ul-Fitr would be observed on Friday after completing 30 fasts.

In addition, the countries where the moon will be sighted today include Pakistan, Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, India, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Oman, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Mauritania.

According to astronomers, there are strong chances that the moon will not be sighted today in Asian countries, therefore it is expected that Eid in Pakistan and many Asian countries may fall on Saturday.

However, the final announcement will be made by governments based on the receipt (or non-receipt) of moon sighting testimonies, and the wait is now only a matter of a few hours. The moon is observed immediately after Maghrib prayer.

It should be noted that different countries follow different methods for moon sighting. Most countries prefer traditional sighting, while some also consider astronomical calculations and announcements from other countries.

According to meteorologists, moon sighting can vary every year due to weather conditions and geographical location, which is why Eid may fall on different days in different countries.
