It has been officially announced that the Shawwal moon was not sighted in Saudi Arabia, and as a result, Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Friday, March 20.

According to relevant authorities, moon sighting observations were conducted across the country, but no confirmed reports of moon sighting were received from any location.

Saudi authorities had earlier urged the public to participate in moon sighting and report any credible testimony. Meetings were also held at observatories in various cities to sight the Shawwal crescent. The Saudi Supreme Court had also appealed to citizens to assist in this process.

However, after reviewing all reports received from observatories and moon sighting committees across the Kingdom, the Supreme Court officially declared that Ramadan will complete 30 days, and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, March 20.

Due to the moon not being sighted, 1st Shawwal will fall on Friday. Following the announcement, authorities have directed citizens and institutions to proceed with Eid preparations in accordance with the official statement and to celebrate the occasion in a peaceful and organized manner.
