Web Desk: In a sudden move driven by fear of possible Pakistani airstrikes, several Taliban officials evacuated to Ghor province early Saturday morning.
According to multiple local sources cited by Amaj News, at least four helicopters were used to transport the officials to safer locations. Taliban then hid these helicopter fearing Pakistani precision attacks.
This development follows a pattern of recent Taliban movements in the region. Earlier this week, a number of Taliban leaders reportedly fled to Bamyan and Daikundi provinces under similar concerns of external military action. The flights highlight growing insecurity among Taliban ranks and the heightened tension along Afghanistan’s northern and eastern borders.
Local residents in Ghor expressed unease as the helicopters touched down at remote airstrips, signaling an unusual increase in activity in normally quiet districts. Analysts suggest that such relocations may indicate fears of precision strikes.
