Lahore, 13 March 2026 – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced that petroleum product prices will not be increased this time, despite rising global oil prices.

This decision aligns with his promise to ease the burden on the common citizen during difficult times.

The Prime Minister explained that regional tensions and pressure on the global economy could have serious effects on Pakistan’s economy. However, through timely policy-making, government savings measures, and fiscal discipline, the authorities are trying to manage the situation humanely and effectively.

He added that both federal and provincial governments are working together to prevent overcharging beyond government-set prices. Thanks to the efforts of diplomatic and economic teams, sufficient crude oil is available for national needs, ensuring stability for the country.

The Prime Minister expressed hope that global conditions will improve and that petroleum prices in the international market will stabilize, providing further relief to citizens.
