Web desk: Pakistan’s opening batsman Fakhar Zaman will miss the upcoming one-day international series against Bangladesh due to a hamstring injury.

Zaman suffered the injury during his aggressive innings against Sri Lanka in the ICC T20 World Cup. Team officials confirmed that he will travel to the National Cricket Academy to undergo rehabilitation and regain full fitness.

The Pakistan cricket team is scheduled to tour Bangladesh this month for three ODI matches. The squad will arrive in Dhaka on March 9. A practice session is planned for March 10 followed by the first ODI on March 11. The second ODI will be played on March 13 and the final match on March 15. All matches will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.

This will be Pakistan’s second tour to Bangladesh since July 2025. In that T20 series Bangladesh won. Previously in May and June 2025 Pakistan had toured Bangladesh and swept the T20 series 3-0 under the captaincy of Salman Ali Agha.

Officials indicated that younger players may be added to the ODI squad in place of underperforming T20 players. Names like Saeem Ayub, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Nawaz could make way for emerging talent.

Sources also noted that regional tensions may influence the tour but if travel risks remain low the schedule is expected to proceed as planned.

Authorities assured that Pakistan will field a strong side to compete effectively and maintain high standards despite Zaman’s absence.
